The day began with the junior women doing a 10km pursuit (5km classic followed immediately by 5km skate).  Adele and Zoe skied strongly to finish 14th and 16th in a very strong field of juniors all vying for spots on the Canadian team for the World Junior Championships.  The race was won again by Alberta's Marlis Kromm who was closely followed by Lauriane Ouellet of Quebec.  Noémi Bérubé of Nakkertok skied to a 7th place finish.

In the Junior Men's race, Colin skied well (especially in the classic portion) in the 20km race and finished 12th.  Other notable Ottawa results were Stefan Loyd who finished 4th and Aiden Lennie who crossed the line in 8th.  Graeme Killick won the race by a huge margin to secure himself a spot at the World Juniors.

Megan had another strong race and finished 10th in the Open Women's category (15km) which was won in a sprint finish by Milaine Theriault who is enjoying a great comeback season so far.  Sheila was 14th and Alana was 16th.  The top U23 racer was Brittany Webster who was only 0.3 seconds behind Milaine.  This race was also a qualifying race for the World Cup to be held in Whistler in a few weeks so the field was a strong one.

Finally, in the men's 30km race Karl finished in 10th place and was very pleased with this result.  The race was won by Graham Nishikawa.  Frederic Touchette was the top U23 skier and was 1 second out of the lead.

The skis were great as always and a big thanks goes out to our Vauhti wax technicians who have been slaving away for us....coach John and teammate Craig!

Tomorrow is the last race of the series and it is a classic sprint.

No pictures today....we were all too busy racing!
