Mooney's Bay Ski Centre SKI FOR KIDS + Sprint Races - You vs. XC OTTAWA!

SPRINT RACES - YOU Vs. XC OTTAWA - FEB 28 at Mooney's Bay Ski Centre
Here are some details on the Mooney's Bay events scheduled for the Saturday Feb 28 Fun Day and Chidren's Wish Fundraiser at Mooney's Bay.
All events are free to enter - no pre-registration necessary - but we
ask you bring a donation for Children's Wish that day!
12:30 - Kids' Challenge Event.
- Bring your kids for some non-competitive obstacle course fun around
our main field.
1:00pm - 400 Metre Sprint - XC Ottawa Racers.
The X-C Ottawa team will demonstrate their speedy and technically
spectacular skiing skills! We'll time them as they sprint 400 m around
our main track. Classic and skate skiers.
1:10pm - 400 Metre Sprint - Open Competition.
Now you try it! - We challenge you to match (or beat, if you dare),
the times of the XC Ottawa race team. We'll start you five at a time -
skate or classic - sprint around the track and we'll time you with our
electronic timers and give you your exact time at the end!
1:25pm - "Tour de Mooney's Bay" 1.1 km Sprint.
Once again, the XC Ottawa Racers will show us how it's done first....
They'll ski a loop of our main field, north field and orchard, then
back down into the main field (just over 1km).
Then we'll have a mass start for the public - there will be prizes for
1st, 2nd and 3rd place winners in skate and classic.
1:45pm - Adult Fun Race - XC Ottawa vs. Mooney's Bay Ski School vs. YOU!
At 1:45pm, we will finish the day off with an extra-fun obstacle
course race for adults. There will be up to 5 teams of 3 people - one
team will be Mooney's Bay Instructors, one will be XC Ottawa racers,
and up to three teams from the public - you can bring some friends or
organize a team right at the event if you wish!
You will tackle a series of ski challenges as you make your way around
the main and north fields... finishing up with some SNOW KAYAKING.
It will be fun to participate, and even more fun to watch!
2pm - awards ceremony, including a number of draw prizes from Trailhead.
Reminder - our event runs 11am-2:15pm.
Come early to enjoy free rentals, free skiing, and free mini-lessons.
BBQ and hot chili will be served! (suggested donation to Children's Wish).
