Keski Climb Rollerski Race set for Gatineau Park on Oct. 23, 2004

Keskinada Loppet presents it's first fall event!

On October 23, 2004, the Keskinada Loppet will be hosting the First Edition of "The Keski Climb". This mass sporting event aims to attract fitness and fresh air enthusiasts.

Greatly inspired by what was once called "La montée de la Gatineau", the event will appeal to the cyclist, the in-line skater, the roller skier and the runner. Participants will be challenged by a 20 km. climb on part of the course of Canada's greatest cross-country ski event.

The different races will start on Cité des Jeunes Boulevard in Gatineau near the "Relais Plein Air du Parc de la Gatineau". Participants will head south on Cité-des-Jeunes Boulevard, go around the Asticou Centre, take the bike path that leads to the Gatineau Parkway and finally travel up Gatineau and Champlain parkways to Champlain Lookout.

Organisers have put together a series of races including 20 km, 10 km. 2.5 km. events for cyclists, in-line skaters, roller skiers and runners plus some 4 X 5 km. relays. Participants must be 16 or older to register except for the 4 X 5 km. events where 14 year olds and older are accepted. The 2.5 km. events are for 12 and 13 year olds only.

Race Categories

Registration fee is $20 ($15 under 16) and includes race services and transportation (except for cyclists) from Champlain Lookout to the Relais Plein Air and to relay stations.
