The racing schedule for Thunder Bay is composed of 3 race days and one rest day. The races are hosted by the Lappe Nordic ski center. The trails are fun, technical and the grooming is impeccable!
The first races kick off on Thursday, the format is a continuous pursuit. All racers will do one leg in Classic before transitioning to Skate and finishing the race. Races Thursday will vary between 10 km and 30 km, it is considered to be the long distance day for all categories (Junior and Senior).
Friday will be a well deserved rest day for all athletes. It will be a day to try the courses and test skis... and probably eat some famous Lappe Nordic pancakes!!! :)
The final two races will resume on the weekend. Saturday will be a Classic Sprint race and Sunday will be a 15 km, individual start, Skate race.
