eLoad/eMend XC Ottawa Duathlon is Back!
Come try a Pursuit Race!!
XC Ottawa will be hosting a race at Nakkertok Nordic Centre (Nakkertok South) on Sunday, January 22nd. The race format will be a pursuit.
What is a pursuit race? A pursuit race is comprised of two continuous portions: one classic leg followed immediately by one skate leg. There will be a transition zone in between, where you exchange your skis and poles. If you don’t have pursuit boots (most people don’t), just use your skate boots for both portions of the race. Pursuit (or duathlon) is a regular part of the Olympics and World Cup circuit and is becoming more popular at domestic and even local levels. Last year's night pursuit was a resounding success and is an event you don't want to miss!
