Getting primed for race time

This past weekend offered more opportunities to sharpen our skills and improve our race fitness.  Many of the team members ran the rugged 5 Peaks race at the Ark (north of Wakefield) on Saturday.  Most of us also enjoyed a wet and windy skiathlon time trial on Sunday.  Sunday's course was composed of two quick 5km loops with the long climbs and speedy downhills that are typical of the parkway.  Here are some pictures of the skiathlon event.  It was such a beautiful day...

The men's team get off to a quick start.

And the ladies eagerly await their turn to go.

Anna and John at the start line.  John never complains about standing in the cold and rain on our behalf!

So, we're getting race-ready.  We've got the cold and the precipitation...just need to wait for it to turn to snow!  Until then, the good old rollerski time trials are keeping our competitive appetites wet.

Happy training!
