The second day of racing in Canmore brought us a 10km classic for the girls, and a 15km classic for the men. It was an individual start with racers going out every 30 seconds. The course featured a lot of long climbs, fast descents, and very little flats.

The men were up first and Steffan set the pace of the day for XC Ottawa, finishing 27th. Matt had a solid race finishing 43rd, with Riel not far behind in 45th. The race was won by Brian McKeever, setting himself up nicely for a position on the Olympic team.

The women followed an hour later, with Sheila finishing as XC Ottawa's top racer in 15th place. Liza, Ingrid, and Holly finished close behind in 18th, 19th, and 21st respectively. The race was dominated by Emily Nishikawa, who won by almost a minute over 2nd place finisher Brittany Webster.
