The 2014 XC Ottawa Duathlon has come to an end. Racing was intense, the courses were tough, and temperatures were low. Champions were crowned, and heros were born.

Atop the podium today, in the "Fastest" category, we had Nicholas Pigeon, who managed to break away from second place, XC Ottawa-er and newly-made father Karl Saidla, in the later stages of the race. Nakkertoker Maks Zechel came in closely behind to claim the bronze.

In the women, Alexandra Slobodian came in first, with a commanding lead. XC Chelsea Master Natalya Kuziak took second, and Lindsey Chapman took bronze.

In the "Faster" category, times were tight, but Pierre Grall-Johnson managed to put in an extra bit of speed when it mattered most to take the win. Reid Norman, Dawson Lyon and Teagan Harris duked it out in a 3-way sprint for 2nd place glory. Reid had the fastest sprint and managed to distance himself from the rest for 2nd, while Dawson outlunged Teagan for bronze.

In the women, Alyssa Stowe took the honours, while Alison Pouw and Katherine Marshall had a tight sprint for second. In end, Alison managed to edge out Katherine, taking second, while Katherine settled for bronze.

Full results are available for the Fastest and Faster categories.

Thanks again to our sponsors, eLoad/eMend, as well as Fresh Air Experience, who supplied the prizes for the event!
