XC Ottawa at the NCD Awards Banquet

The NCD Awards Banquet is always a great opportunity for the Gatineau and Ottawa Ski Clubs to get together, eat some great food, and celebrate the ski season. 

This year's event was held April 24 at the Camp Fortune Main Lodge. There was still some snow on the ski hills, and at least one persistent cross country skier was out, not giving up on the ski season.

The Banquet is also a chance to award the NCD trophies to winners of various age categories for the local NCD race series. XC Ottawa loves supporting the local race scene, and we did pretty well.

Here are the highlights:

• Ingrid, Liza, and Katie swept the Senior Women's category.
• Peter won the Senior Men's category
• Karl was 3rd in the Senior Men's category
• Sheila won the Master's Women
• Mark won the Master's Men

Great prizes were awarded, and the winners will get to add their names to the NCD trophies. Thanks to Carla Tomlinson and Jen Tomlinson for organizing the evening, and for all the volunteers who put on the events and made the NCD series possible.
