Although we save most of our holiday time for winter activities, we managed to pack a lot of fun and family into a week trip with time in Bromont, Vermont, and Connecticut. Here are some pictures.

First Stop: Bromont - A nice stay at Jardins du Lac Interieurs beside the Lac Gale recreation area (nice hiking trails!).

Next Stop: 3 days at East Burke, Kingdom Trails for some amazing mountain biking and trail running. Many claim these are the best mountain biking trails in North America.

Vermont has some of the BEST general stores, and the two at East Burke don't disappoint. You'll get some amazing sandwiches and baked goods at the Northeast Kingdom Country Store.

Third Stop: Ridgefield Connecticut for a family reunion at John's sister's house. We managed to find a fun low-key community 5k running race close by - the 15th Annual Perogie Dash at Holy Trinity United Church. The atmosphere was great, and it had a perogie mascott, and perogies as a post-race dish. The course was hilly with a net uphill, finishing with a brutal climb to Holy Trinity Church.

We managed to convince Evan's grandfather and cousins to join us.

I chased Evan the whole way but he took off on the last uphill! We came 3rd and 4rth overall.

We all managed to win Matroiska Nesting Dolls. Such a great prize!

The Perogie Dash was just minutes away from my all time favorite store (Trader Joes) - so I had to make second visit in 2 days to stock up on some more favorites.
