With warmer weather finally heading our way, XC Ottawa is heading up to Thunder Bay for the Haywood Ski Nationals. Held from March 14-21, the races will attract the top skiers from across Canada. Lappe Nordic will be the host for the event and will provide racers with challenging trails, including the infamous Grunt. With 5 races held over 8 days, the upcoming week will be full of fun and excitement.

Things kick off on Saturday the 14th with a skate team sprint. Look for XC Ottawa teams of Mark & Arthur, Ingrid & Sheila, and Katie & Logan. Kyla and Steffan will be representing Carleton in the CCUNC relays.
The next day we'll be racing the short distance skate event. It will be an individual start, with the women racing 5km and the men 10km.

After a nice day off, we'll be racing the medium distance on St. Patrick's day. This time a classic individual start, the women will do 10km, and the men 15km. The next day will follow with the individual classic sprints.

Finally, things wrap up on March 21st with the long distance skate mass start races. The women will do 30km and the men will complete 50km on a challenging course. Things will wrap up later that day with the Awards Banquet held at the Valhalla Inn.
