Every Tuesday and Thursday evening until August 31st, the North Loop (P8-P9) will be closed to traffic for rollerskiing, rollerblading, cycling, etc.. The closure will start at 6:00 and continue until dusk.

Thanks very much to the National Capital Commission, who kindly allows us to use the Gatineau Park as a training location. Thanks to Ian Lennie for coordinating the closures and to the volunteers from the Chelsea Nordiq, Nakkertok, XC Chelsea Masters and all those volunteers who help with the evening and weekend closures all summer.

Saturday Short Loops: Sections of the Gatineau Parkway will be closed to motor vehicles from May 27 to October 22, 2017.

  • 6 am to 11 am: Gatineau Parkway between Champlain Parkway and Chemin du Lac-Meech (4.7 kilometres)
  • 6 am to 1 pm: Gatineau Parkway between parking lots P8 and P9 (3.5 kilometres)

Nokia Sunday Bikedays: From May 21 to September 3, 2017

  • 6 am to 11 am: A total of 27 kilometres (Gatineau Parkway, Champlain Parkway, Fortune Lake Parkway) to enjoy!
  • 6 am to 1 pm: A total of 3.5 kilometres north of Chemin du Lac-Meech (parking lot P8). This section is ideal for families with young children.

Please remember:

  • If you arrive at the North Loop on a Tuesday/Thursday, and the parkway is NOT closed to traffic, DO NOT proceed to rollerski on the open road. Wait for the parkway to be closed; if no-one comes, then go for a run or something but don't rollerski.

  • ALWAYS wear a helmet if you are using this facility.

  • Please say thank-you to the committed volunteers who are opening and closing the roads.
