Spring skiing is such a treat after a long cold winter. Well, usually winters are cold, but this past winter it seemed like we got Spring skiing conditions every other week! But Spring is usually the only time of the ski season when you can walk out the door to go skiing wearing only a T-shirt. Since the sunshine is so warm, it's a very conducive time to head out on extra long ski outings. It's for those reasons that skiers often try to extend the ski season until the last stretch of snow has melted.

In some places there are competitions to see who can ski the longest. We even know a few individuals who have skied back and forth on a 1m wide, 100m long stretch of snow for upwards of 30km! That's a little extreme. You might even call it Spring skiing fever.

Suffering from Spring skiing fever himself, one XCOttawa reader suggested we swap a few Spring season skiing stories, and we thought that was a great idea! If you have a Spring skiing story, or if you know the dates of your final skis over the years in Gatineau Park, we'd love to hear from you. Photos are good too.
