Silverstar Mountain is getting a bit of snow every day, which means the skiing has been superb! Megan and I joined the Ontario team for a skating time trial at Sovereign Lakes yesterday, and by the time we started, we were in a big snowstorm and skiing through very soft snow. My plan was to cool down by skiing over the mountain to Silverstar with Sue.
Our ski home started out fine, until we found ourselves recognizing sections of trail and realized we were doing loops of the "Mystery" trail. After skiing around for awhile (and being happy that I'd packed plenty of food) we realized that early season signage can't be trusted. Luckily, a local skier showed us the way and we finally made it back to Silverstar, a little later than planned!
This morning was an easy classic ski, followed by the "Bugaboo Challenge." We told Evan and Ben that if they skied all the way to the Bugaboo Bakery they could choose whatever they wanted. They were successful!
