The parkways were in much better shape this morning. There was less windblown snow, and it was pretty quick considering it's such fresh snow. It was glazing a lot this afternoon, so that should speed it up as well. Humidity was 60-70%.
Testing...
High fluoro was running better than low and the Vauhti Medium Gel tested fastest. You would want that over Vauhti Speed Graphite covered with Vauhti Speed Green covered with BlackFox as well. That's right 4 layers for 53km!
Recommendations..
- Simple: Vauhti hard antistatic then Vauhti Green
- Mid: Vauhti Speed Graphite, then Vauhti Spektra Green
- Fastest: Vauhti Speed Graphite, Vauhti Speed Green, BlackFox, Medium Gel
The forecast is for an overnight low of -11°C and a high of -8°C. That means the snow temperature will be relatively stable and cold. You can't go too far wrong waxing a bit colder.
Remember to scrape and brush really well, and leave as little wax on the surface of the ski as possible. You might want to re-read these Cold Weather Waxing Tips
