Nakkertok Nordic the largest
cross-country ski club in the National Capital District is growing yet
again and we are looking for an assistant coach to join our team.
Under the direction of a full-time paid coach, the part-time assistant
coach will assist in the delivery of roller-skiing and skiwalking training
in Gatineau Park to midget and junior racers on Sunday mornings (approximately
9 :00am – 1 :00pm) throughout the summer. Sunday practices can include
balance exercises, technique drills, distance rollerskiing, strength
and intervals workouts, distance ski walking, and myriad of games.
Qualifications :
- strong roller skier and runner – confidence and good technical ability on rollerskis
- minimum coaching certification Level 1; or, willingness to complete coaching certification
- excellent communication skills and ability to motivate teenage skiers
- desire to be part of a dynamic team with volunteer coaches delivering a quality program
Rate of Pay :
- $60.00 per Sunday morning May 27 – September 2 - commitment to 90% of the Sunday mornings is required
