SILVER SPOON SKI FEST 2013

Get your cross country skis waxed up and join us for the 41^st Annual Silver Spoon Ski Fest on February 9^th, 2013. Located in Deep River, a small town just 2 hours west of Ottawa, the Silver Spoon offers a superbly organised race along with scenic ski trails. Whether you have been skiing for years or just strapped on your first pair this year, there is an event for you!  Race events range from the non-timed 1.5 km mass start event to the more competitive 16km races. Timing of events is handled by Sportstats.  

The excitement starts at 11:00a.m. with the classic races followed by the afternoon knock-out skate sprint races at approximately 1:45p.m. Awards will be presented in the St. Mary’s School cafeteria around 3:30 p.m. followed by the special awards ceremony & buffet dinner at the Bear’s Den (doors open at 5:30p.m.). Buffet tickets can be purchased from Monica’s Pantry (in Deep River) or through Events Online when you register for your event.  

We have made a couple changes after much race organizer deliberation. The Participation Mass Start will no longer be a timed event, and this change is reflected in the lower race fee. As well, race day registration will be ONLY available for the Open, Participation Mass Start & Skating Knock-out events (with an additional $10 charge per event).

 How do you register? 

1. To register online: Visit the Events Online website at: http://www.eventsonline.ca, (a transaction fee will be added which is based on the amount processed).  Please note: If you are registering online for more than 1 event, you will need to modify your name on the 2^nd form (i.e. add a middle initial). Online registration closes on Wednesday February 6^th.         
2. To register by mail: Download & print the registration form & waiver from the Silver Spoon website (http://www.silverspoonskifest.com). Mail to: the Race Secretary, Box 999, Deep River, ON, K0J 1P0 or drop off at 32 Parkdale Ave., Deep River.  Mail-in entries must be received by Tuesday, February 5^th. There will be registration forms in the ski chalet this week.

If registration forms are received after the cut-off date, they will be treated as a race day registration, and the $10 additional charge will apply.
