Notice: Gatineau Parkway Closures for September 30-October 1st, 2006

On Saturday, September 30th, the Gatineau Park is hosting the National Rollerskiing Championships. The race will take place starting at Gamelin Gate and ending at Champlain Lookout. The entire Parkway loop will be closed to traffic for this reason from 6:00 am to 10:00 am.

On Sunday, October 1st, the Parkways will be closed at their usual hour and usual place (around P8, at approx. 7:00am), but will re-open at 9:30 am. This is due to the expected traffic increase as a result of leaf season. We think leaf season is best enjoyed by rollerski, but others prefer to view the leaves from the comfort of their heated seats.

PLEASE MAKE SURE YOU ARE OFF THE CLOSED ROADS BY 9:30. 

We expect that the relevant authorities will be cautious as a result of the increased traffic.
